Louisville / Jefferson County
- Louisville Waste Reduction Center (Entrance on Bland Street) – Free drop-off for Jefferson County residents (up to 4 large items, 4 tires, 3 electronics per day). Good for appliances and bulky junk.
- River Metals Recycling (multiple locations, e.g., 7100 Grade Lane or 2045 River Rd) – Buys and recycles scrap metal, appliances, electronics, copper, aluminum, and more.
- Rusty Rooster Recycling (7400 Grade Lane) – Scrap metal and recycling services.
- Radius Recycling and other local scrap yards – Good for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Mount Washington / Bullitt County Area
Marrillia Environmental – 360 Ranch Rd, Mount Washington, KY 40047
Convenient transfer station serving Bullitt, Jefferson, and Spencer counties. Accepts general household waste, bulk junk, clean wood (they have an air curtain burner for recycling), cardboard, and metal. They also sell mulch, topsoil, and compost.

Important Notes
- Rules, accepted items, and fees change — always call ahead or check the facility’s website.
- Many places do not accept hazardous materials, tires, paint, batteries, or Freon appliances.
- We can haul everything for you and take it to the right facility so you avoid multiple trips and hassle.
